THIS WEEKEND AT CAMPIT –   Spring Fling Weekend & Progressive Party

Please join us this weekend for the first of what we expect will become a new Campit tradition - our first “Progressive Party” !  This is a great chance to get out and meet your fellow Campit Members and to showcase your “Hostess with the Most-ess” talents.

Here is how it works:

We’re inviting everyone at Campit this weekend to join in a party that will travel (or “Progress” ) from place to place around the resort. 

Seasonals, tenters, RV’ers and lodging guests, are all invited to both host a 15 to 30 minute party and to attend all the other parties hosted in various locations around Campit.  Each neighborhood can work together by forming one or more teams to create some kind of appetizer or treat and  host a little hors d’oeuvres / cocktail party. 

Then we’ll kick off the party at 6 pm at the Campit Café with hors d’oeurve provided by Campit.    At 6:30 we’ll move the whole party to Central Park either walking or riding the hay wagon over.     At about 7pm we’ll  the move whole party to Westwood.   At 7:30pm we’ll “progress” on to East Village. 

Campit will provide tables, paper plates, cups, napkins and plastic ware and whatever else you need.    At each stop there will be a donation can for participants to vote for your favorites.   Hosting groups can either keep those donations to help cover  its expenses and/or donate it CARES.

We hope you’ll decide to participate, either by creating a hors d’oeuvres to share or simply by joining the progression around Campit and donating to the hosts.  We already know there are some talented “ party throwers” around here – let’s share the wealth!

Spring Bears in the Woods 2012, May 11-13

Friday evening started the weekend with welcome sunshine and warm temps  as a crowd of about  60 Campit Members gathered for a  Meet ‘n Greet n’ Weenies around a roaring campfire.   The party went on for a couple of hours after which most mingled around the resort stopping at campfires along the way.

Saturday morning we caravanned to a fun and delicious brunch at a restaurant in nearby Glenn.

Saturday evening was Campit’s Annual Chili Cook-Off.  Having a dozen Chili entries along with a host of accompaniments, everyone got their fill.  Prizes were awarded for First Place (a tie between 2 Chilis) and Second Place, but everyone of the entries were prize worthy.

The Dessert Cook-off was won by Campit Seasonal Duane for his Key Lime Cheesecake.

A little later we had a rousing game of Bear Bingo, called by our own Judy who kept her Bears laughing not growling.  We again finished the night with a number of campfires around the resort, much laughter and lots of new friendships.

Sunday morning came too soon as we mingled around Campit Café for a morning cup of coffee, before lots of goodbyes and bear hugs as Members packed up and left Campit for another work at week.
